KUCHING: MJC City Development Sdn Bhd has renovated its sales gallery with an industrial cafe style in line with its vision to rebrand and upgrade the image of its Batu Kawah New Township development.

The new sales gallery not only improves the working atmosphere for the MJC team but also provides comfortable areas for its property consultants and relationship managers to discuss the potential of investing in the township.

It was officially opened by Permodalan Assar Sdn Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Bujang Mohd Nor recently in conjunction with Assar’s site visit to SkyVilla Residences and Papillon Street Mall, two of the developments within the township.

A subsidiary of Mudajaya Corporation Bhd, which is listed on Bursa Malaysia, MJC City made its first foray into property development in Sarawak via a joint-venture arrangement with Assar Development Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Amanah Saham Sarawak Sdn Bhd.

Batu Kawah New Township was mooted by the state government of Sarawak to decentralise the congestion in the city centre.

The township sits on a 105ha former pineapple plantation situated only 7km from the city centre and Kuching International Airport.

It won a Sheda Excellence Award in Best Township (Merit) in 2012 for its well-planned, self-contained modern concept. Internal roads in the township are designed as dual carriageway while many green areas are maintained for the benefit of residents and the public.

To date, 65ha of land has been developed into mixed development such as condominiums, shophouses, semi-detached houses, bungalow lots and terrace homes.

Future developments include shopping complexes, offices, private hospital, private schools and college, condominiums and hawker centre.

During its 20 years in real estate development, MJC City is known to build properties with good architecture concept and innovative lifestyle.

For instance, the recently completed Papillon Street Mall promotes art and provides a place for young professionals to relax. The One Residency enclave recently launched a garden and courtyard villa that promotes back-to-basics living with facilities such as a tree house, oasis and pirates’ deck.

The sales gallery is open this weekend. For more information, call the hotline at 082-452 633 or email mjc@mudajaya.com
